NPF members gear up for the next round of bargaining

UNDE members from the Non-Public Funds (NPF) came together in Ottawa in March to collaborate and build momentum for the next round of bargaining.

UNDE represents around 500 members employed by NPF within the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. These members provide essential programs and services to Canadian Forces personnel, veterans, and their families – including health, fitness, and recreational programming, as well as retail, shopping, and financial services.

After a prolonged strike to reach a fair contract in 2024, members gathered to strategize for a strong and successful round of bargaining. The team did a breakdown of their current collective agreement, reflected on the gains PSAC-UNDE have made over the years, and explored what it would mean to move into the core federal public service.

They also looked at what’s possible when workers mobilize together, and took part in workshops on storytelling and lobbying to help them effectively communicate the issues they face at work.

As we prepare for this next round of bargaining, PSAC-UNDE will continue to fight alongside NPF members – for fairness, respect, and recognition. The strength and solidarity members showed on the picket line will carry them through this next round.

Together, we’re ready to secure a better future for NPF members.
