This policy guides UNDE’s practices concerning the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal information.
UNDE is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, accuracy, and security of members’ personal information it collects, uses, and retains in the course of fulfilling its legitimate purposes as a public service union, a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “UNDE” refers and applies to all members of the Union of National Defence Employees across the country and abroad as necessary.
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or submit a form at https://unde-uedn.com/ (known as “the Site”).
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
UNDE collects personal information of members it represents in order to fulfill its legitimate purposes. UNDE needs personal information to carry out its representational obligations and provide a variety of member services, and to communicate and engage members in union business.
“Personal Information” is defined as information concerning an identifiable individual, such as their home address, home email address, home telephone number, social insurance number, EFT banking information, family status, national or ethnic origin, membership in an equity group.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Member Expense Information that we collect for UNDE claims reimbursements.
Additionally, we use this submitted information to communicate with you in general as a member of this union.
When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our services.
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
UNDE is committed to protecting your personal information from unauthorized use and disclosure and will not distribute personal information to a third party without your consent unless required to do so by law, in which case the information released will be limited to what is legally required.
DATA RETENTION
When you process an expense form claim through the Site, we will maintain your information for our records for a limited amount of time as necessary and then delete this information.
CHANGES
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
