The Joint Learning Program – Now Recruiting in the Prairies and NWT!

Looking for agents of change

  • Are you a public-service employee looking to promote positive change in the federal public service?

  • Are you interested in guiding important conversations in the workplace about issues that concern us all?

Meet the challenge: contact the Joint Learning Program (JLP) and apply to become a facilitator today!

The next JLP facilitator virtual orientation sessions will be available shortly and will offer seats to candidates from across the Prairies-Northwest Territories region. Individuals who are interested in this exciting opportunity should submit completed applications no later than Friday November 12, 2021. Selected facilitator applicants will receive five (5) days of virtual training over two weeks to prepare to become facilitators.

Facilitating with the JLP will help you develop communication and leadership skills that will not only foster a stronger public service but also nourish your career, your network and the workplace as a whole. JLP workshops/discussions are highly participatory with lots of exercises and dialogue.

New direction, new products, new opportunities

The JLP has designed an entirely new series of guided discussions for public-service employees. This discussion series, entitled Empowering Conversations, offers discussions on relevant and current topics. Co-facilitated by JLP facilitators, these sessions are offered via teleconference or video conference, and are usually less than half a day in length.

We want you!

We are now actively recruiting new and diverse facilitators from across the Prairies and NWT to join our team. Facilitators will start with co-facilitating the virtual series sessions and then future workshops in person when it is safe to do so. We are looking for people who have a fondness for guiding groups, want a new challenge, are looking to develop new skills and want to make a difference in the federal public sector workplace.

Some important points to consider:

  • Each workshop/discussion requires two facilitators – one representing the Union and one representing the Employer

  • Facilitators are expected to deliver workshops/discussions in their geographical location (there may be future opportunities to travel within the region)

  • Learning groups consist of 15 to 20 participants for in-person workshops and no more than 15 participants for virtual discussions

  • No experience necessary – but it helps! Some background in co-facilitating experiential learning activities that are participatory and dialogue-based would be an asset

Please contact us directly if you have any questions or would like to discuss the commitment further.

We look forward to hearing from you!
