While on route to Africa I had a 12 hr stopover in London. We headed downtown on the tube. When we arrived downtown London I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to participate in a march of approx. 34 – 35 thousand Sisters and Brothers!!
PS. I managed to come away with a good selection of flags!!!
The Put People First march was organised by a “rainbow alliance” of 150 trade unions, church groups and charities including ActionAid, Save the Children and Friends of the Earth. The theme was “jobs, justice and climate” and the message was aimed at the world leaders who gathered in London April 2nd 2009 for the G20 summit.
