UNDE Local 629 Throws Weight into MRI: Image Matters
UNION OF NATIONAL DEFENCE EMPLOYEES DONATE TO PRHF MRI CAMPAIGN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Petawawa) In June 2013, the 629 Local Union of National Defence Employees voted in favour of contributing $5,000 to the MRI: Image Matters Campaign.
“We felt it was important to support the community” said Paul Bedard, Chair of the Steering Committee. “Most importantly this is a gift to support our community. Everyone will benefit from having this diagnostic tool available close to home.”
The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s MRI: Image Matters Campaign is working to raise $4.5 million to bring MRI technology to the Pembroke Regional Hospital for the residents of Renfrew County. MRI is used to help diagnose and plan treatment for a host of diseases and injuries including musculoskeletal injuries and breast cancer staging.
“Our community includes our serving members, our friends, family and our neighbours. MRI will be a great asset to this area for each and every one,” said Grant Tennant, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee.
Receiving the donation was PRHF Executive Direction, Nancy Warren. “We at the Foundation are very inspired to see the number of groups coming forward and becoming a part of the campaign in support of our regional hospital and our community.”
To date the MRI: Image Matters Campaign has brought in over $2.953 million. If you have a fundraising idea or event, or for more information, please contact the Foundation office at 613 732 2811 ext. 7408 or firstname.lastname@example.org“>email@example.com
